Vitoria (EFE).- The Basque Foral Treasuries had, as of December 31, 2022, a total of 472 large defaulters.
They have not paid taxes for a value of 1,058.4 million euros, according to the lists of defaulters published by the councils of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.
The number of large defaulters has more than doubled with respect to the previous year (from 230 to 472).
This has been due to the fact that Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa have already lowered the threshold to enter that list, which has gone from one million euros to 600,000 euros, which has increased the number of large debtors.
In Álava, the effects of this change will be taken into account as of December 31 of this year.
Although large debtors have increased exponentially, the same has not happened with the amount they must pay.
It has grown, but in a less striking way: it has gone from 844.5 million last year to 1,058.4 now.
More than half of that debt, 607.5 million, is located in Bizkaia and corresponds to 349 large debtors.
Of them, 177 have a debt of between 600,000 and one million (in total they owe 137.6 million), with which they appear on the list due to the aforementioned change of criteria.
Jabyer Fernandez, main defaulter of the Bizkaia Treasury
In Bizkaia, the list is once again headed by a company linked to Jabyer Fernández, in this case Habidite with a debt of 60.3 million.
It is followed by Iurbenor Promociones with 52.2 million debt and Residere Proyectos SL, with 39.9 million, which are real estate companies owned by the same owner.
Jabyer Fernández himself and his sister Susana owe 38.29 million and their companies Fonorte and Grupo Afer 3.5 and 1.3 million, respectively.
Also noteworthy is the debt of 38.3 million of Versus 07, of the Catalan oil company GM Fuel Tank, 37.9 million; from the promoter Moldis Echarro, 20.4 million; the Garazi Taldea company, 31 million; Domestic Industries, with 18.4 million; the promoter Abaroa 17.9 million and Zorzal Siglo XXI, 14.3 million.
The list of those who owe more than 10 million to the Biscayan treasury is completed by three companies from the Alzola group (with 11.3 million each), the real estate company Baensa (12.1), Ballonti Oil (10.4), Earle Solar (10.7) and Erosten Real Estate Investments (10.7).
Large defaulters double in Gipuzkoa
In Gipuzkoa there are 86 large defaulters, twice as many as the previous year, and together they owe 319 million.
In that list, 50 new taxpayers with a debt of 45.5 million have entered and 7 have left that owed 13.4 million.
Compared to the previous list, published on June 30, 2022, the debt increases by 79.1 million euros since it then reached 239.9.
The main defaulter is the construction company Lagilur SL, with a debt of 80.2 million.
Followed by the brothers José Ramón and Juan Miguel Osinalde Echaniz, with individual debts of 46.5 million; LH Commodities & Investments, with 22.9, and Tecfrindus with 6.2 million.
Álava continues with the same big defaulters
In Álava there are 37 large defaulters (34 companies and 3 individuals) the same as last year but now they owe 2.7 million more for a total of 131.9 million euros.
In this territory, debtors do not increase because the aforementioned threshold to enter that list has not been lowered.
The greater part of this amount corresponds to the Ros Casares group for another year.
Through three companies it owes 35.6 million (an amount similar to 2021): 19 million through the company Goya Sesenta y Nueve, 11.6 million from Ros Casares Centro de Acero and 5 million from Corporación Ros Casares.
Other defaulters are Gerosgar, with a debt of 12.2 million; the Urko-Urbasa joint venture, with 11.8 million; the Itcarcris SPE group, with 8.8 million; Lendiz 1100, with 5.3 million, and Construcciones Santander e Hijos, with 3.7. EFE
