Toledo, (EFE).- PP and Vox have reached an agreement for the formation of a “solid, stable and lasting” coalition government in the Toledo City Council.
This government of PP and Vox comes after 16 years of socialist governments in the capital of Castilla-La Mancha.
In a joint press release, both parties have explained that, according to this agreement, Vox will join the local government and assume “certain areas of management.”
However, they have not detailed them and have assured that they will be announced after the plenary session of the constitution of the city council, scheduled for this Saturday, June 17.
In this plenary session, the PP candidate for mayor, Carlos Velázquez, will be invested as mayor with the favorable votes of Vox.
PP and Vox affirm that “a new exciting stage” is opening in Toledo
Both political formations have valued the importance of this agreement to open a “new exciting stage” in the city of Toledo.
In addition, they have been confident that the local government they will form will allow “the implementation of a city project that will leave a very positive mark on the future.
They have also asserted that this coalition government “guarantees the will for change that citizens have expressed at the polls.”
In the municipal elections of May 28, the PSOE was the list with the most votes and won eleven councilors out of the 25 that were elected.
For its part, PP achieved nine and Vox, four, so the sum of these last two reaches an absolute majority.
