Seville, (EFE) of radiotherapy.
As reported this Wednesday by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA), the Court has received a letter accompanied by medical documentation specifying the action plan from now on in the face of the disease, consisting of “pharmacological treatment and exercises rehabilitators”.
The First Section of the Provincial Court of Seville recalls that, in an order dated January 13, Griñán’s entry into prison was postponed until the aforementioned radiotherapy sessions were concluded, for which reason it has agreed to transfer the medical documentation to the IML contributed.
The only senior official convicted by the ERE released
The IML will now have to issue a report “as soon as possible on whether the treatment prescribed is compatible with imprisonment, for the purpose of resolving the suspension of execution requested by its representation.”
The Court had requested Griñán to communicate the end of the radiotherapy in an order issued on March 30, after his defense presented a letter with the corresponding report days before.
In its first pronouncement on the imprisonment or not of the former Andalusian president, sentenced to six years in prison for embezzlement of public funds in the case of the ERE, the IML ruled last January that the side effects of the treatment that is now ending “seem little compatible with the prison dynamics”.
Griñán is the only one of the former senior officials of the Board sentenced to prison who remains free, after the admission on April 11 in the Puerto III prison in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) of the former Deputy Minister of Employment Agustín Barberá, to serve his seven-year sentence. EFE
