Oviedo, Apr 15 (EFE).- The pilot Julio César Castrillo and his co-pilot, Francisco Javier Álvarez, died this Saturday after suffering an accident when they were participating in the Villa de Tineo Rally, when they left the road with their Citroën DS3 N5 and crashed against a tree in the penultimate section of the test.
The test, valid for the Asturias Championship, had 86 registered vehicles and was suspended after the accident, according to a spokesperson for the organization.
After learning about the consequences of the accident, the President of the Principality, Adrián Barbón, has contacted the mayor of Tineo, José Ramón Feito, to express his sorrow for the death of the two motorists.
“A lot of pain with this terrible news, which leaves us all sunk,” he said on his Twitter account.
