Logroño, (EFE).- The indefinite strike of the justice administration lawyers, former judicial secretaries, celebrates its eighth day this Wednesday with 527 suspended actions and more than 1.5 million euros withheld in deposit accounts and judicial consignments .
The delegate in La Rioja of the Progressive Union of Lawyers of the Administration of Justice (UPSJ), Judit González Barriales, has detailed to EFE that this group has gathered at noon in front of the Palace of Justice in Logroño, to regret that “the Ministry of Justice remains rooted in its position.
Out of a staff of 30 professionals called to support the protest in La Rioja, only two have chosen to work (there are another two who cannot support it, due to being on leave and in special services), so the follow-up rises to 96 percent. percent in the community (100% in Haro and Calahorra and 95% in Logroño).
The strike, which began on January 24, led to the suspension of 262 proceedings last week, including trials -such as one of sexual abuse of a minor reported in the Provincial Court- and various appearances, González Barriales has specified.
At the edge of collapse”
In the first three days of this week, 265 actions have already been suspended, of which 168 are trials and the rest are appearances, among which are two divorce ratifications, 24 statements from those investigated for the commission of a criminal act and 32 reconciliations between worker and employer.
He added that the computer trays for receiving demands and writings have “limited capacity” and are currently accumulating, to the point that they reach “collapse.”
On the other hand, it has indicated that in the accounts of deposits and judicial consignments, which can only be accessed by lawyers for the administration of justice to make deliveries, 1.5 million euros have been stuck due to the strike, only in Logroño.
indefinite unemployment
This spokesperson in La Rioja for the UPSJ has stressed that the lawyers will continue with their protest, called to demand wage and labor improvements from the Government, in accordance with the new functions that have been attributed to them after successive legal reforms.
“We have an outstretched hand to demand compliance with the agreements reached in April with the Ministry of Justice, which has not been able to sit down at the table to talk,” he stated.
He stressed that they “deeply” regret the damage that their strike is causing to citizens and justice professionals, because the stoppage of their work is causing “a huge ball”, which precisely “values the figure of the administration lawyer of Justice”. EFE
