Logroño, (EFE) defective masks.
This commission will be chaired by the socialist deputy Teresa Villuendas, with the PSOE parliamentarian Sara Orradre as vice-president and the popular Carlos Cuevas as secretary.
PP and PSOE positions
In a note, the PP parliamentary spokesman, Jesús Ángel Garrido, regretted that the Government of La Rioja has not yet given “the appropriate explanations” about the purchase of “false masks” from the Granada company Tec Pharma for almost 3.5 million euros, in April 2020.
Garrido has criticized that the commission has taken more than six months to set up, since last summer, when his group requested it.
He has also censured that “PSOE and IU have agreed” that the Presidency and Vice-Presidency fall to Socialist deputies “with the sole objective of paralyzing the work and explanations that the PP has been demanding for so long.”
For his part, in another note, the PSOE parliamentary spokesman, Raúl Díaz, stressed that this commission represents “a great opportunity for the PP to explain why it invented hoaxes and another series of suspicions against all the effort made by the La Rioja society to protect citizens from the coronavirus.
He has assured that this commission “will serve to verify that the PP was wrong when questioning the management carried out to save lives at the worst moment of the pandemic”, for which he has advanced that he will demand that the PP “apologize to La Rioja society in its set”.
“In La Rioja, as has happened in other autonomous communities governed by the PP, there have been no commissions for brothers or exorbitant contracts for relatives, just a demonstration of how companies in La Rioja changed their production to protect us all,” he said. underlined Diaz.
Claim to Tec Pharma
The spokesman for the Government of La Rioja, Álex Dorado, announced this Wednesday that the Rioja Health Service (SERIS) has submitted a claim to the company Tec Pharma to return 2.68 million euros for the contract to supply 850,000 masks defective.
This claim, pending the report of the Advisory Council, includes the termination of the contract, a liquidation for damages, the request to the company to remove the defective masks and the consignment of 2.68 million for the acquisition of this material.
These masks were part of an order, awarded to that company in April 2020, for almost 950,000 units, for which the Government of La Rioja paid 3.47 million euros. EFE
