Oviedo, Feb 8 (EFEAGRO).- Asturian farmers delivered to the industry between April and December, the first nine months of the 2022/2023 campaign, 398,307 tons of milk adjusted for fat content, which represents a decrease of 6.6 percent year-on-year.
In addition, the delivery of milk from organic production fell by 27.5 percent, to 4,809 tons, according to information from the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund published this Wednesday by the Asturian Society for Economic and Industrial Studies (Sadei).
The drop so far this season occurs after the delivery of cow’s milk to the industry by Asturian farmers fell by 0.9 percent in the whole of the previous season, up to 562,509 tons, a volume that represents 7.5 percent of the national total.
This decrease occurred after the 2020/2021 campaign had reached the highest volume since 2007/2008, a total of 567,871 tons.
