Madrid (EFE).- The First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, has assured that the purchase of her house “already reflects a drop in prices” as a result of the measures adopted by the Government to contain inflation.
This was stated this Wednesday by Calviño in the government control session in the Congress of Deputies, in response to a question from the Popular Party deputy Carlos Rojas, while remarking that she, like all Spaniards, is looking for offers and buy seasonal fruit.
“I have seen that in those products in which VAT has fallen, prices have fallen” and that is “what the distribution groups also transmit”, remarked the vice president, who has recognized that we must wait to see the impact of the latest package of measures because “detailed data” is not yet available.
Carlos Rojas, for his part, has remarked that “the shopping basket is through the roof” and prices “are not falling”, and has described the action of the Government of Pedro Sánchez as a “great failure”, “chaos” and “ruin”.
The Minister for Economic Affairs has also responded to a question from Vox deputy Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, who has accused the Executive of “cheating” with all the data and “manipulating the institutions”, in reference to the change of the president of the INE the last summer.
Calviño has responded that VOX attacks and questions democratic institutions because they cannot explain that they have voted against all the reforms and measures that have allowed inflation to drop and that will allow them to continue on the path of economic growth.
“They never defend, not even by mistake, the interest of the Spanish people”, the first vice president concluded.
