Toledo (EFE).- The general secretary of the Popular Party of Castilla-La Mancha, Carolina Agudo, has asked the political parties for responsibility so that they let the PP govern, which has been the most voted in the general elections, because in her opinion Spain “is not for blockades” and needs a quick institutional solution.
In statements to the media, Agudo recalled that the PP candidate for the Presidency of the Government and president of the party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has announced that he is going to initiate a round of contacts with the rest of the parties that have obtained representation in the General Courts so that they allow him to form a government.
And he has asked them for responsibility so that they let the party that won the elections form it.
To questions from journalists about the response he expects from the parties, Agudo commented: “I understand that Spain is not there for blockades.”
In his opinion, what the country needs is “a quick institutional solution to be able to form a government and to have a president who immediately makes decisions and carries out the measures that our country and, above all, the Spanish economy need.”
For this reason, he has reiterated that “Spain is not there for institutional blockades and Spain is not there for other parties to decide to block a government that, of course, the Spanish need.”
The PP asks that the most voted list in the elections govern
Likewise, he recalled that Núñez Feijóo has been reiterating the request to the PSOE and its acting Secretary General and President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, that the Socialist Party allow the list with the most votes to govern.
In this sense, he has reiterated that the PP has won the elections and that, therefore, “what the polls have said is that Alberto Núñez Feijóo has to preside over the next government in our country.”
Therefore, he has insisted on asking the rest of the political forces “to exercise responsibility and allow the PP who won the elections yesterday to govern.”
Agudo has made these considerations on the occasion of the meeting held this morning in Toledo by the popular parliamentary group and the president of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Paco Núñez, to plan the activity of the next period of sessions and the month and a half of summer that remains until the new political year begins.
