Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Jul 23 (EFE).- The president of the PP in the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez, celebrated this Sunday that his party “has climbed one more step” on the islands, by winning the congressional elections in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, he said, and drawing six deputies with the PSOE in the whole archipelago.
Supported by the deputies and senators elected by this community, Domínguez has stressed that the PP has won the elections in Spain and has expressed hope that the national president of his party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, can govern.
Domínguez has regretted that other political spokespersons have not congratulated the PP on its national victory, an area in which it has added 47 more seats than in 2019.
The party on the islands has contributed to this victory, which has managed to add 100,000 votes, 10 percent more than those obtained in 2019, as he stressed.
Jimena Delgado, Guillermo Mariscal and Carlos Sánchez, for Las Palmas, and Juan Antonio Rojas, Asier Antona and Laura Lima, for Santa Cruz de Tenerife, will be the PP Canarian parliamentarians in the new legislature.
To the Senate, Gran Canaria contributes Sergio Ramos and Tenerife Emilio Navarro. EFE
