Valencia, Jul 24 (EFE)
In a message on Twitter, Mazón thanked “all the citizens of the Valencian Community who have made the PP the leading force in the 23J elections.”
For her part, the mayoress of Valencia, María José Catalá, has affirmed that the PP with Núñez Feijóo “has won the elections and should govern Spain as the party with the most votes”.
“In Valencia city we have won thanks to the trust of the 158,522 residents who have trusted us, leading the results and surpassing the votes in the municipal elections,” he added on Twitter.
“The change initiated on 28M is consolidated. The Valencians are clear about it”, concludes the message from María José Catalá.
At the PPCV headquarters, the PPCV campaign manager, Miguel Barrachina, and the party’s Deputy Secretary of Organization, Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca, have appeared before the media, considering that these elections “confirm that the change in Mazón in the Valencian Community is a global change”.
Barrachina highlighted that 918,000 Valencians have voted for the Popular Party, “which has won the general elections in the Valencian Community, in Congress and in the Senate, 13 to 11 in Congress and 8 senators to 4 in the Valencian Community”.
In his opinion, “this confirms that the change in Mazón in the Valencian Community is a global change: we won in the town halls, in the three capitals, in 27 of the 33 counties and in the three provinces, in the Generalitat Valenciana”.
“Today the Valencian Community has said yes to the change of Carlos Mazón”, he has indicated, has claimed that 50,000 more Valencians have voted for them compared to May 28 and has thanked their voters for “having painted the entire Community blue”.
This Monday, he said, the entire PPCV Executive will be “in Madrid, on Calle Génova, to tell Alberto Núñez Feijóo thank you for having left Galicia and abandoned all that comfort to allow us a result that allows us to win 47 deputies”.
The PP, he has considered, is “the most beloved” and has encouraged Feijóo to present his candidacy: “Tomorrow the PP of the Community will naturally be together with whoever has won the elections to say ‘go ahead, president'”.
Pérez Llorca lamented that “many people who wanted to go vote and who wanted to take the train in Valencia to go to Madrid have not been able to do so. I hope that this had nothing to do with any result that could have been achieved in any other town in Spain”.
