Valladolid (EFE).- The PP has won the general elections in Castilla y León, by harvesting 18 seats, five of them obtained at the expense of Vox, which only obtains a deputy in the Community that co-governs with the popular ones, while the PSOE maintains the 12 that it obtained in the 2019 elections, according to provisional data provided by the Ministry of the Interior and 98.60 percent counted.
With a participation of 74.4 percent, 7.8 percentage points more than in 2019, helped by an exponential increase in voting by mail and the mobilization generated by the parties, this result recovers for Castilla y León a panorama of bipartisanship that had been broken in previous general and regional elections with the successive irruptions of Podemos, Cs and Vox -now with only one deputy in Congress-.
Specifically, Vox has lost the respective deputies it had in León, Zamora, Salamanca, Ávila and Segovia, all of them harvested by the PP, while the PSOE has repeated the results of 2019 in all the provinces.
In the same way, the provincial and regionalist parties that sought to revalidate in these elections their good results in the autonomous elections last year -UPL, Soria Ya and Por Ávila-, the three with representation in the Cortes of Castilla y León, have remained far from obtaining representation.
In the case of Sumar, which sought to unite the vote to the left of the PSOE that in previous elections had gone to United We Can and other formations, it has not achieved representation either, remaining at 7 percent of the votes and close to 98,000 votes.
In percentage of vote, the PP has obtained 41.57 percent of the votes in Castilla y León, which represents almost 10 percentage points more than in 2019 and some 140,000 more votes to exceed 580,000 in absolute terms.
In the case of the PSOE, it has achieved 32.36 percent of the votes, one percentage point more than four years ago, to a total of more than 451,000, which is about 17,000 more, while Vox has garnered 13.78 percent -2.8 points less-, with just over 192,000 support, which is about 38,000 less than in 2019.
