Pamplona (EFE) a record has been added.
According to the Commonwealth of the Pamplona Region, of the total amount of waste collected, 357,220 kilos correspond to collection in containers (0.83% less than in 2022), 558,840 kilos to glass collection (10.13% less than in 2022) and 326,140 kilos to street cleaning carried out by the Pamplona City Council cleaning service (11.98% more than in previous Sanfermines).
However, during days 7, 8 and 9, coinciding with the weekend, 507,200 kilos have been collected, exceeding the year 2017 by 13.8%, with a configuration of days equal to 2023.
During these San Fermines, the collection of waste in the festive environment was done, for the sixth consecutive year, through selective collection containers to be able to deposit the different fractions separately (glass, organic matter, rest, paper-cardboard and containers). Separate collection, including glass, has made it possible to recover 69.67% of what was collected.
Increase the collection of glass in bars and restaurants
Of the total glass collected (558,840 kilos), 181,440 kilos belonged to the collection of bars and restaurants in the festive environment (which is 5.50% more than in 2022), 368,740 kilos to the collection in ‘igloo’ containers ( 16.44% less than in 2022) and 8,660 kilos for the collection of glass in the Plaza de Toros (0.93% less than in the previous Sanfermines).
In addition, the same sources indicate that the amount of door-to-door collection in bars carried out on Sunday the 9th (30 tons) was also a record.
On the other hand, during these Sanfermines there has been the children’s space “JuegoRejuego” installed in the Taconera park and which has had the reuse of materials and waste as its central axis. The space, organized by the Pamplona City Council, has had the collaboration of the Commonwealth and has maintained participation in figures similar to that of previous years.
The replacement of the pneumatic collection boxes in the Old Town of Pamplona began today, Monday, July 17. The mailboxes will be fully in place on Thursday the 20th, the day on which the pneumatic collection will be fully operational.
Slight increase in water consumption in Casco Viejo
Regarding water consumption, the average flow registered in the Pamplona Region between July 6 and 14 was 1,115.4 liters per second, 12.87% less than in 2022. However, in the Casco Antiguo the average flow was 51.8 liters per second, which has meant 0.58% more than in 2022.
The highest flows in the Old Town coincided with the weekend, registering the highest consumption on Saturday 8 (60.5 l/s). The values gradually decreased until day 14.
As in previous years, on the 6th at 9 in the morning a high instantaneous flow was recorded, coinciding with the moment in which the population was preparing to go to the chupinazo.
