Caracas (EFE) – has “sent emissaries” to ask to “be invited” in the presidential elections scheduled for 2024.
“We formally tell you that we do not have time to consider your request, (…) to consider (…) your cries (…) Life, the future in Venezuela is decided by Venezuelans, (…), no mission returns here of European observation, they do not return, because they are rude, because they are colonialists, ”he said during the session of the Legislature, with an overwhelming pro-government majority.
Rodríguez’s statements were made during the discussion of an agreement, later approved unanimously, “in repudiation” of a European Parliament resolution in which it condemned the “arbitrary and unconstitutional” decision to disqualify anti-Chavista politicians, as well as the interference of the Government of Nicolás Maduro in the country’s electoral process.
Interfering in internal political affairs
“I tell you, (Josep) Borrell (high representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy), no observation mission from Europe will come here while we are the representatives of the Venezuelan State,” said Rodríguez.
The ruling party assured that one of the observers from the mission that visited Venezuela for the regional and local elections in November 2021 violated an agreement that prohibited them from “interfering in the internal political affairs” of the Caribbean nation, by telling “two opposition candidates to the Governor of the Bolívar state (south)” that they had to “unite so that they can defeat Chavismo”.
The Eurochamber condemned the disqualification of opposition politicians, such as Leopoldo López, or the candidates for the October 22 primaries Henrique Capriles, Freddy Superlano and María Corina Machado, who seek to be the candidate who faces the ruling party in the presidential elections next year , a pronouncement that thanked this Thursday the anti-Chavismo grouped in the Unitary Platform.
