Madrid (EFE) on the 20th, at the latest.
Voters who want to vote by mail and have not yet done so have a few days to submit the request electronically on the Post Office page or in person at the offices.
The postal company reminds that in the application you must indicate the address where you will be when the Electoral Census Office sends the documentation, since if you have not done so, the electoral law establishes that it be sent to the residence of registration.
However, Correos has informed that there is the possibility of requesting the forwarding of the documentation to another address even if it has already been requested and even received, although it warns that it must be done with enough time so that the entity can send the envelopes and ballots to the new location.
The sending of electoral documentation -which began on July 3- will last until the 16th, so citizens who decide to wait until the last moment will only have 3 days to receive the envelopes and ballot papers.
According to the unions, in these general elections more than 2.5 million requests to vote by mail will be reached and, in this sense, on July 5 they reported that they had “far exceeded” 2 million.
Correos explains that it has never provided partial data on this procedure, neither requests nor votes cast, and that, as in the past, in these elections it will only publish the final figures when the process has finished.
It stresses that these data will be disseminated on July 14 (one day after the end of the term to request a vote by mail) and on the 21st of that month (hours after the end of the term to issue it).
Voters who request to vote by mail in offices will have to prove their identity by showing their DNI or other similar identification document so that the Post Office operators can verify that the signature matches the one on the application.
In the event that there is an illness or disability that prevents it, the voter may delegate the request for a postal vote to another person authorized by a notary or consular authority.
