Logroño, (EFE) the municipality, with hail, water and wind.
Both storms caused the closure of highway and rail traffic, affecting four trains; Numerous basements of houses were flooded and the water and mud reached half a meter in the streets of the town.
“The situation is bad”, added the mayor of that municipality of about 4,000 inhabitants, who is concerned about the damage that may have been caused, both in the town itself and in the fields, especially in the production of the Denomination of Protected Origin Pears from Rincón de Soto.
The damages have begun to be evaluated this Saturday, in which rail and road traffic has been restored on the N-232 and LR-115 highways, which were cut off due to being flooded with water.
The first storm, with hail, fell after 4:00 p.m.; and the second, with “a strong wind”, around 7:00 p.m., to which was added that the Lodosa canal overflowed and “all the water has reached the town,” the mayor has indicated.
The water and mud have reached, in most of the streets of the municipality, half a meter, which has exceeded it in other areas; and the cars that were circulating at that moment got stuck, without causing personal injury or someone having to be helped because they were in a dangerous situation, he added.
