Madrid, Jul 7 (EFE).- In May, 10,404 companies were created in Spain, which represents an increase of 13.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, while the dissolution decreased by 1.6%, with the disappearance of 1,702 companies.
According to data published this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), of the total number of companies dissolved in May, 82.7% did so voluntarily, 6.2% due to merger and the remaining 11.1% for other reasons. .
The total capital subscribed for the constitution of the new companies exceeded 360 million euros, with an annual decrease of 4.3%, while the average capital subscribed fell by 16%, to 34,604 euros.
On the other hand, in May 2,745 mercantile companies increased their capital, 11.8% more than in the same month of 2022, with a subscribed capital that registered an increase of 0.4% and reached 1,577 million and an average capital of 574,561 euros, 10.2% less in annual rate.
18.6% corresponds to trade
18.6% of the commercial companies created in May correspond to commerce, 16.7% to real estate, financial and insurance and 13.3% to construction, details the INE.
Regarding the dissolved companies, 20.1% belong to commerce, 16.2% to construction and 14.6% to real estate, finance and insurance.
The autonomous communities with the highest number of commercial companies created in the fifth month of the year were Madrid (2,216), Catalonia (2,046) and Andalusia (2,029), while La Rioja (36), Navarra (75) and Cantabria (77) were the regions with the least number of commercial companies created.
Regarding dissolved commercial companies, those with the highest number were Madrid (495), Andalusia (293) and Catalonia (165), while those with the fewest dissolved companies were Navarra (7), La Rioja (11) and Asturias ( 14).
