Santa Cruz De Tenerife (EFE).- The Canary Islands Coalition (CC) candidate for the Congress of Deputies for Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Cristina Valido, has encouraged “everyone to vote” in the elections this Sunday in which there is “a very good sign”, that of the increase in voting by mail, which, she has said, has tripled.
In statements to the media after exercising her right to vote, Cristina Valido has asked voters to exercise “that wonderful right that we have in a democracy to elect those who govern us”, while expressing her desire that the day pass without incident.
Valido, who will remain for a few hours as a proxy at the Tabaiba polling station (El Rosario) where she has exercised her right to vote, has admitted that the future of the day is unknown because it is hot, there are people on vacation and the date “is bad.”
“In places where abstention is high under normal conditions, it is foreseeable that it could grow more, hopefully not,” said the nationalist candidate who, however, also stressed that “people have felt sufficiently invited to participate in these elections”.
This is so because the vote by mail has tripled, which is “a very good sign” that “people have not gone away and passed on the subject” but that there are people who have taken vacations and have requested the vote by mail.
“We will see at the end of the night how the abstention and the percentages have gone” of voting, Cristina Valido concluded. EFE
