Vigo, Jul 3 (EFE).- Celta de Vigo reported on Monday that they have reached an agreement with Pumas, a team led by former sky blue coach Antonio ‘El Turco’ Mohamed, for the transfer of Uruguayan striker Gabriel ‘Toro’ Fernández to the Mexican team.
The Uruguayan attacker arrived in Balaídos in the summer of 2019 from Peñarol to replace the loss of his compatriot Maxi Gómez, transferred to Valencia. However, Toro Fernández hardly had any chances in his first season at Celta (554 minutes and one goal) and the following year he went on loan to Zaragoza in the Second Division.
After spending time with the Aragonese team, the Uruguayan striker went out on loan again to FC Juárez, where he played in recent seasons. In the Mexican championship, he played 47 games and signed 12 goals.
Celta wishes Toro Fernández “luck and success” in his new personal and sporting stage.
