Madrid, June 29 (EFE).- The annual inflation rate moderated to 1.9% in June, the lowest figure since April 2021 and 1.3 points less than in May, due to a lower increase in fuel, electricity and food prices.
According to advance data on the consumer price index (CPI) published this Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), core inflation has also moderated by two tenths, to 5.9%.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has highlighted that Spain is the first country of the large economies in the euro zone that manages to reduce inflation below 2%, the reference level of the European Central Bank (ECB).
