Madrid/Oviedo (EFE).- The study service BBVA Research has raised its growth forecast for the Asturian economy for this year from the 1 percent that it predicted in March to 2.1 percent, according to the latest report published this Wednesday.
However, it has reduced its growth forecast for the autonomous community for next year by four tenths, from 2.9 to 2.5 percent.
For the country as a whole, BBVA Research has raised its growth forecast for the economy from 1.6 to 2.4 percent for this year, while it has reduced it by half a point for next year, from 2.6 to 2 ,1 percent.
The report also points to employment growth in Asturias, in EPA terms, of 0.8 percent this year and 1.5 percent next year, compared to a national average of 2.4 and 2 percent. respectively.
BBVA Research has raised its economic growth forecast for this year for all the autonomous communities.
According to the forecasts of this research service, the most dynamic autonomies would be the Balearic Islands (3.6%), the Canary Islands, Madrid (3.0%) and Catalonia (2.6%).
The report points out that the improvement in some communities such as Asturias will be based on the recovery of the industrial sector and sales of goods to the rest of the world.
