Madrid (EFE).- Spanish households spent an average of 31,568 euros in 2022, an increase of 7.9% compared to 2021, which means recovering pre-covid levels and reaching figures that have not been seen since 2008.
According to the Family Budget Survey published this Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), this is the second largest increase in spending since the series began, only surpassed by that of 2021 (8.3%), marked by the rebound after the worst year of the pandemic.
By categories, the groups where average household spending increased the most were restaurants and hotels, leisure and culture, and transportation.
