Madrid (EFE) a bracelet with the flag of Spain throws the LGTBI flag or the logo of the feminist movement into a trash can.
The poster, displayed on a building in the center of Madrid, between the streets of Alcalá and Goya, also includes the communist flag, the Catalan independence flag and the logo of the 2030 Agenda, all of which are thrown into the trash by one hand.
In a resolution to which EFE has had access, the Electoral Board does not assess the “possible illegality” of the content of the banner, but it does consider that it represents a violation of article 53 of the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (Loreg) , which prohibits electoral propaganda from the calling of an electoral process until the legal start of the campaign.
For the Electoral Board, there is a commercial contract with a message (“Decide what matters”) aimed at “persuading the voter”.
In addition, it does not see it as framed in the “ordinary activities” of the formation, and “the fact that the voter’s vote is not expressly requested is not a reason for not considering as electoral propaganda any activity that, directly or indirectly, seeks to attract of suffrages”.
The PSOE and the Spanish Association against Conversion Therapies had filed complaints against the canvas before the Electoral Board.
The banner has also been the subject of controversy in recent days, being dubbed “the canvas of hate” by LGTBI and feminist groups.
Last Sunday, Futuro Vegetal militants threw red and black paint on the Vox poster, which they criticized for considering it “an attack on all sectors that question hegemonic positions.”
