Santa Cruz de Tenerife (EFE).- The councilor of CC in the Cabildo de Tenerife Rosa Dávila has indicated that the resignation of the socialist Pedro Martín to the presidency of the insular corporation “facilitates the whole process” of transfer of powers and does so ” less cumbersome” than if a motion of no confidence had to be held.
Dávila commented on Martín’s movement during the plenary session for the constitution of the Cabildo de Tenerife in this new term after the 28M elections accompanied by the PP adviser Lope Afonso, who has recognized that the outgoing president’s announcement “caught them by surprise”.
In practice, Afonso continued, “the administrative procedure changes, but not the objective, which continues to be to provide Tenerife with a solid and stable government in the Cabildo; It is what we have embodied in the political agreement -PP and CC-, and now what we are going to do is have the opportunity to advance it”.
Asked Rosa Dávila if she already sees herself as president, she has asked to “wait until Monday”, when a new plenary session is called, because she likes to “go little by little”.
The nationalist counselor has analyzed that Pedro Martín, aware of the agreement between CC and PP and “knowing already censored as of tomorrow, what he has done is precipitate events.”
“But I insist: the roadmap remains the same. We have a large, solid majority, to provide Tenerife with a strong, stable government that advances, fleeing from extremism and giving solidity to the island”, Dávila asserted.
Asked if this move by Pedro Martín leaves open the possibility of a motion of no confidence throughout the mandate, she said that she is not concerned.
Lope Afonso has intervened stating that the political agreement signed by both formations “is based on mutual trust, loyalty and commitment. Our vision of the island will be the same for these four years and there will be no reason to change it, neither in terms of the majority nor in terms of political approach. I predict that this will be a government for a long time ”, he has finished. EFE
