Madrid, Jun 27 (EFE).- Carmen Sevilla was one of the most beloved artists of her generation by the public, but she also dazzled younger people as a television presenter, a time in which there was no shortage of anecdotes with a surreal tinge, that she always arranged naturally and laughing at herself.
His interventions in the nineties remain especially memorable, when he experienced a new stage of popularity, after he turned 60, with the “Telecupón”, a Telecinco contest program that included the ONCE coupon draw and that he presented together with Agustín Bravo.
These are some of the funny phrases and anecdotes of “the bride of Spain”:
-In 1992 the artist appeared live in slippers at home in the “Telecupón”, yes, golden ones. It was not clear if she was in a hurry or because her feet hurt, but she did not stop laughing when they focused on her shoes, as did everyone on the set and, of course, her followers from home .
-Also in the “Telecupón”, while losing weight, they put a cucumber with salt inside a drum set that was advertising. Carmen, after telling the public “with her permission” from her, ate it live: “I’m very hungry, it’s delicious.”
-And in that program he made a phrase that he kept repeating to the viewers very popular: “remember to buy the little coupon”.
-He affirmed that he got ready a lot before going out: “I put on my fajitas and my things well put on.” And she also did not hesitate to reveal that she put adhesive tape on her neck to stretch the skin on her face.
-With the calls during the live programs he had more than one mistake. Like when a man on the phone told her that he was an “admirer” of hers and she understood that he was a “fisherman”.
To another man who told her that he was blind, she replied: “how beautiful, what joy”.
-As a result of her marriage to Vicente Patuel, her second husband, she retired to a cattle farm and became an expert in “sheep”. So much so that she appeared on several television shows with sheep on her lap. In Canal Sur she recognized herself while she held tightly to one of those animals: “the sheep give me sailor cloth.”
-He even launched a colony called “Mis ovejitas”.
-Memorable were also his 1993 Campanadas with José María Íñigo for Telecinco. Carmen Sevilla, in addition to saying a little phrase of good wishes after each bell, which made it very difficult for the spectators to focus on swallowing the grapes, she ended up saying Happy 1964 instead of 1994.
-In 1995, during the program “Llévatelo calientito” by Los Morancos, they sat Carmen Sevilla next to a chimpanzee that would not stop touching her. When she couldn’t take it anymore, she exclaimed spontaneously: “I shit on the mother who brought me into the world.”
-As a presenter of “Cine de Barrio” along with Juan Carlos Cerezo, she also had her mistakes. She invited Lolita one day and to highlight the Flores saga she got confused and instead of saying “genes” she spoke of “the germs” of that family of artists.
-“I am older, but not so old as to be from the Legal Park” is another of the phrases to remember by a woman who fell in love with Cantinflas -she gave him a ring with a huge diamond- or with Charlton Heston, with whom he coincided in the movie “Marco Antonio and Cleopatra”.
