Madrid (EFE) it will be for Geroa Bai.
The PP will preside over the parliaments of the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Madrid, Murcia and La Rioja; the PSOE, those of Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura; Vox, those of Aragon, the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community, and Geroa Bai, that of Navarra.
In total there will be seven women -four from the PP, two from Vox and one from the PSOE- and five men -two socialists, one popular, one from Vox and one from Geroa Bai.
This Monday the Valencian Courts have been constituted, where the deputy of Vox Llanos Massó has been elected president in application of the pact that will make the popular Carlos Mazón regional president; and the General Meeting of the Principality, which will be chaired by the socialist Juan Manuel Cofiño.
For tomorrow, Tuesday, the Parliament of the Canary Islands will remain, which is expected to be chaired by Astrid Pérez, from the PP, by virtue of the governance agreements signed between her party, the Canary Islands Coalition, the Gomera Socialist Group and the Independent Herreña Group.
Thanks to the pacts with the PP
While the three presidents of Vox have been elected thanks to agreements with the PP -Gabriel Le Senne in the Balearic Parliament, Marta Fernández in the Cortes de Aragón and the aforementioned Llanos Massó in the Corts Valencianas-, Santiago Abascal’s party has lent its votes for a single PP candidate: María José González in the Parliament of Cantabria, against the regionalist candidate supported by the PSOE.
Of the remaining popular presidents of the new regional parliaments, two have been elected by an absolute majority -Enrique Ossorio in the Madrid Assembly and Marta Fernández in the La Rioja Parliament- and one in the second round and solely with the votes of the PP: Visitación Martínez in the Regional Assembly of Murcia; on the sidelines of tomorrow’s vote in the Canary Islands.
Of the socialists, Blanca Martín was elected president of the Assembly of Extremadura, in the second round and with the votes of her group and United for Extremadura after PP and Vox failed to reach an agreement; Pablo Bellido will preside over the Parliament of Castilla-La Mancha thanks to the absolute majority of the PSOE of Emiliano García-Page; and Manuel Cofiño will be in charge of the Asturian parliament with the support of his group, the IU and the Forum.
Finally, Unai Hualde was elected president of the Parliament of Navarra by a large majority with the votes of his group, Geroa Bai, and those of PSN, EH Bildu and Contigo-Zurekin.
Tour in Extremadura
The PP and Vox pacts have also continued today to mark political news after the PP candidate for the Presidency of the Government of Extremadura, María Guardiola, has sent an email to party affiliates in which she informs them of the revocation of the board of directors and the regional executive committee scheduled for this Tuesday and tells them that respect, dialogue and the programmatic agreement with Vox are “essential”.
This communication has been directly interpreted as a “rectification” by the general secretary of Vox, Ignacio Garriga, who has trusted that Guardiola will open “a new path” and bring them “closer every day” to be able to form a government alternative in that community.
The PSOE spokesperson and Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría, has criticized Guardiola’s change of position: “A week ago we saw how Mrs. Guardiola came out like Agustina de Aragón defending rights and values, until it came to light He realizes that he can lose the chair”.
23J on the horizon
From Valencia, where a demonstration called by the Feminist Coordinator has received the election of Llanos Massó with slogans such as “fascists out of the institutions”, the Minister of Science and Innovation and head of the list of the PSPV-PSOE to Congress for Valencia, Diana Morant , has accused the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo of having “laid out the red carpet for the extreme right” and having “exchanged rights for armchairs and principles for charges.”
However, the aforementioned, with an eye fixed on 23J, has demanded in Barcelona a “strong government and not reissue a fragmented government” and has also rejected “economic populism” because “no progress is possible with magic tricks” or with “great speeches, brawls or polarizations”.
In Madrid, the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has trusted this Monday that the pacts between PP and Vox to form a government in territories such as Extremadura “will come to fruition” and has rejected the establishment of “red lines” based on the “mantras of the left”.
“I don’t think we have to spend all day putting red lines to talk about what the left is supposedly concerned about,” Díaz Ayuso has criticized.
