London, (EFE).- David Mearns, a rescue expert and friend of two of the passengers who were on board the Titan submersible, assured the British chain “Sky News” this Thursday that the debris found on the seabed includes parts of the device missing.
Wreckage near the Titanic
According to Mearns, “a landing structure and rear deck” of the submersible have been identified in a debris field near the Titanic, at a depth of about 3,800 meters.
The expert explained to “Sky News” that this information was shared in a WhatsApp group by the president of The Explorers Club, an entity to which the British Hamish Harding and the French Paul-Henry Nargeolet belong, both among the five men who were going aboard the Titan.
An “unconventional” submarine
“This is an unconventional submarine. That rear deck is its pointed end and the landing structure is the little structure that it looks like it’s leaning on,” Mearns said.
This “means that the hull has not yet been found, but very important parts of the system have been found, and they would not have been found unless (the submersible) was fragmented,” he added.
