Alicante (EFE) 88 points with “Vents”, by Florida-Portazgo, has won the first prize for the quality vote of the president of the jury.
The Valencian from Vilamarxant David Sánchez Llongo, artist of the monument, has done a ‘double’ and has won first prize in the Fallas and also that of the Bonfires in the same year, on a podium completed by Baver-Els Antigons, which yesterday rose with victory in the special category of children. In addition, Sánchez Llongo has also achieved the highest distinction in the first category, with Explanada.
The ceremony in which the award was awarded was attended by the Bellea del Foc, Belén Mora, the Councilor for Fiestas, Cristina Cutanda, and the mayor of the city, Luis Barcala, who was in charge of communicating by telephone the prize to the representatives of the winning bonfire just before leaving there to personally congratulate them.
Minutes after learning of the ruling and still shouting with enthusiasm, the president of the bonfire, Carlos Ruiz Romero, has confessed that they had “high expectations” of reaching the highest award for the quality of the construction artist, David Sánchez Llongo, of which he has commented that “it is wonderful for its finishes, volume, color and composition” of the bonfire.
A tour of the Universe
‘L-mental’ takes a tour of the Universe from the primordial Big Bang to artificial intelligence (AI) to reflect “how life has made its way from the four elements: water, earth, air and fire ”.
To finish the monument, more than 18 meters high, at the back Sánchez Llongo has reflected the doubts that exist around “how far can AI go”.
The president of the bonfire has reported that they had high hopes for this edition because “dreaming is free”, and added that this year “it has come true”.
One of the first to attend the celebration was the still president of the Provincial Council and next president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, who was in the surroundings and who congratulated himself on this first highest award at the bonfire “of the Dipu ” ensuring that he has seen with his own eyes that success is deserved.
“They have given everything”
“I have seen them work, make an effort and go for the first prize. They have given everything”, stressed Mazón, who in the morning had received the belleas of this bonfire at the Palacio de la Diputación, which is planted a few meters from the headquarters of the provincial institution.
In addition to the first three prizes, Sèneca-Autobusos was in fourth position, fifth place was reserved for La Ceràmica, while Sagrada Familia -sixth-, Florida-Plaza de la Viña -seventh-, Carolinas Altas -eighth-, Hernán Cortés -ninth- and San Blas, who has been in tenth position, have completed the classification.
These awards complete yesterday’s ceremony, in which the children’s awards failed, in which Baver-Els Antigons won with the work ‘Ara més que mai’ by the artists Fernando Foix and Iván Tortajada.
