Madrid, (EFE) last May 31 against Sevilla, who won the title on penalties (1-1/4-1).
UEFA opened a disciplinary procedure on June 2 and has closed it with the sanction of the Italian club’s coach for insulting/abusive language against a match official; plus a fine of 50,000 euros for improper conduct by the team and another in the same amount for lighting flares, throwing objects and public incidents and damage to the stadium.
The Roman team will not be able to sell tickets to its fans for the next game it plays at home in European competition and will also have to contact the Hungarian Football Federation, to take charge of repairing the damage caused by its fans in seats, windows, bins, containers and plugs.
Sevilla has not received a sanction
Sevilla, which was also the subject of a file, for invading the pitch, throwing objects, lighting flares and improper conduct by the team, has not received a sanction of any kind.
Mourinho was very critical of the arbitration by Englishman Anthony Taylor in the press conference after the final, in which he assured that his team was already “accustomed to the influence of the referees” in their matches, and later rebuked them in the stadium car park.
“In a European final I did not expect it. Just look at Ibáñez’s mouth and you understand everything, just look at Lamela who took a penalty and should have been sent off; it is enough to see that the team that played better in the first half is the one that has finished with three yellow cards. Pellegrini falls and it is yellow, Ocampos simulates and there is no yellow, ”he told the press.
Later, in the car park and in the direction of the English referee, he yelled: “it’s a fucking shame” and “you’re a fucking disgrace”.
Another three fines to Roma
In addition to the sanctions for the final, the UEFA disciplinary commission imposed three other fines on Roma for incidents in the first leg of the semifinals at their stadium against German Bayer Leverkusen, played on May 11: €30,000 for throwing objects for part of your public; 32,500 for lighting flares and 18,000 for blocking public access.
The club will also have to partially close its field in the next European competition match in which it is local. The closure will have to affect at least 6,000 seats, spread over 3,000 seats in the north stand and another 3,000 in the west stand.
Leverkusen will also have to partially close their field in the next match in which they play as a home team and pay another three fines for incidents in the second leg of the semi-final against Roma, played on May 18: €30,000 for ignition of flares and throwing objects, €8,000 for blocking public access and €5,000 for invasion of the field.
UEFA also admonished the club for conduct unbecoming of its team.
