He PP has offered a government agreement to Always Don Benedict based on the celebration of a new popular consultation on the merger of this municipality with Villanueva de la Serena, as well as the distribution of the mayoralty of this town, two years for each of these political formations.
The proposal has been transferred to Siempre Don Benito “pending an affirmative response”, as indicated by the popular in a statement on Thursday.
The PP has considered that the majority of Dombenitenses “want a change of government”, since the seven councilors of Siempre Don Benito and the five of the popular add up to 12, which “contrasts” with the loss of five councilors of the PSOE, which has gone from 14 to 9.
In the opinion of the PP, “any change in the consistory” goes through the Popular Party, which is why they demand the formation of a joint government with the formula of two plus two and a PP mayor for the last two years of the legislature.
The popular have indicated that “the forms in the merger process have generated concern and discomfort”, which has led them to offer to start work in pursuit of a new public consultation and provide timely information to citizens so that they can decide freely .
In the matter of free choice they also include the matter of the man of the future city.
PSOE
The PSOE of Don Benito has proposed this morning to the PP to alternate every two years in the mayor’s office of the municipality and share the municipal management, since, according to the acting mayor, the socialist José Luis Quintana, this would be the only way to guarantee continuity of the merger process with Villanueva de la Serena.
At a press conference, Quintana explained that he has already communicated this proposal and is awaiting a response on the matter from the popular. “The episodes of tension in recent months make it urgent to establish a decision-making framework that allows the articulation of a stable government with full management capacity in municipal affairs,” he added.
