Madrid (EFE) in just one hour.
This instability “is not rare at this time, but it is not common for it to rain with such intensity and quite widely, almost at the gates of summer,” explained Rubén Del Campo, spokesman for Aemet, to emphasize that, without However, the positive side is that this storm will help the drought not worsen.
Del Campo has also emphasized the “danger” posed by these showers due to their “intensity”, and has advised keeping informed on everything related to the weather forecast and the warnings in force on the Aemet website.
A DANA in the Gulf of Cádiz
This Monday, the “adverse meteorological situation” is determined by the presence of a DANA in the surroundings of the Gulf of Cádiz, which together with the arrival of humid winds to the southeast and this peninsular, will favor intense rainfall.
In the rest of the east and south of the peninsula, stormy showers are also expected, so Aemet has activated the warning for heavy rains in 7 provinces for this Monday: Albacete, Murcia, Barcelona, Tarragona, Gerona, Granada and Almería, the latter in orange.
Tomorrow, with the DANA located in the Gulf of Cádiz and the arrival of humid winds on the Mediterranean façade, an “adverse day due to the intensity of the rains” is expected again in Almería, in the Region of Murcia, in the south of the Valencian Community and in areas of Andalusia.
In the Bay of Biscay, the Pyrenees and the Balearic Islands, some stormy showers will also develop, although weaker, accompanied by higher temperatures than Monday in the southwest of the peninsula and in the northern half, and lower temperatures in the southeast.
Instability and mild temperatures
On Tuesday, although cities like Lleida, Girona or Logroño will exceed 25 degrees, the atmosphere will remain cool in the southeast, where cities like Alicante or Murcia the maximum will be around 20 degrees.
On Wednesday the instability will continue with widely distributed showers that could be strong in the center of the country, in the south of the Valencian Community, in the Region of Murcia, in eastern Andalusia and in the afternoon, in Aragon, Catalonia and in the Balearic Islands, where locally intense showers are expected.
The area with the least probability of rain will be Galicia and also there, “it will be hot”: Orense and Pontevedra will touch 30 degrees, while in Extremadura and Andalusia 25 degrees are expected; in the southeast the cold environment will persist -between 5 and 10 degrees below normal- with barely 20 degrees in Murcia, Alicante and Almería.
As of Thursday, and with uncertainty, the instability will continue with storms, more likely in areas of the interior of the east and the south of the peninsula, which could be locally strong, especially in Catalonia.
