Seville, (EFE).- The annual inflation rate in Andalusia has increased seven tenths in April, up to 4.6%, due to the rise in fuel prices and a lesser decrease in electricity, while the rise in food prices has moderated to 13.2% after a record rise in March above 17%.
According to the data published this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), in Andalusia inflation has risen above the average for Spain (4.1%) by five tenths and food prices are also growing somewhat more than the national average (12.9%).
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco also increased by 8.8% in interannual rate in April and hotels, cafes and restaurants by 8.4%, while the rest of the groups that make up the CPI registered more moderate rises between 1, 5 and 3%, except Others, with 5.2%; leisure and culture, with 3.3%, and kitchenware, with an increase of 6.8%.
Housing goes down in April
Housing was the only group that recorded a drop in April in Andalusia of 12.4%, according to INE data.
In Spain, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) has confirmed this Friday the general inflation data advanced two weeks ago, as well as that of core inflation (without energy or fresh food), which moderated 0.9 points and stood at 6.6% year-on-year due to the slowdown in food prices.
The moderation of 3.5 points in food inflation in April is the highest in the historical series and has been influenced by the drop in the price of legumes and vegetables, and by a lower increase than a year ago in the price of meat, bread, oils, milk, cheese and eggs. EFE
