Huelva, (EFE).- The turnover of the fishing markets of the Andalusian autonomous community has exceeded 53.5 million euros until April thanks to the commercialization of around 12.8 million kilos of shellfish, fish and molluscs.
This is clear from the latest data published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, consulted by EFE, which set the average sale price per kilo of the different species at around 4.17 euros.
By region, the greatest activity is concentrated in the markets located in the South Atlantic area, that is, those located in the Gulf of Cádiz.
Average price of 3.94 euros in the Andalusian markets
From January to April, more than 9.6 million kilos of products have arrived, for the sale of which some 38 million euros have been billed.
The total average price in this area has been located in this period at 3.94 euros.
As for the markets located in the Mediterranean -provinces of Almería, Granada, Málaga and part of Cádiz- they have registered a volume of catches of around 3.2 million kilos, for whose commercialization they invoiced around 15.7 million euros.
In this area, the total average price of the products has been estimated at 4.87 euros.
The species with the highest volume of catches have been, among others, anchovy, shrimp, black hake, sardines or chirla. EFE
