Oviedo (EFE).- The Italian philosopher, writer and professor Nuccio Ordine, recognized as one of the greatest experts on the Renaissance and the work of the astronomer, theologian and thinker Giordano Bruno, has been honored this Thursday with the Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities 2023.
Ordine (1958, Diamante, Italy), internationally recognized for his defense of books, culture and the classics to build a better society, is a firm defender of an education that is far from pragmatism and advocates instilling in students the pleasure for knowledge and curiosity for knowledge.
He has published numerous titles such as “El umbral de la sombra” (2006), “La utilidad de lo inútil” (2013) and “Clásicos para la vida. A small ideal library ”(2017), a work in which she vindicates classics such as Cervantes, Shakespeare and Plato to understand current issues, from inequality for women to independence.
