Valladolid (EFE).- The labor market of Castilla y León maintained the good behavior of the previous month in April, driven by Easter, and closed the month with 4,132 fewer unemployed than in March, a -3.45 percent decrease, which left 115,514 unemployed in that Community, which also gained 6,500 affiliates to Social Security (0.69%), up to 946,561.
The Ministries of Labor and of Inclusion and Social Security have published this Thursday the labor market data for last month, in which unemployment fell in Spain by 73,890 people, -2.58 percent, compared to March, which left at 2,788,370 the unemployed. Social Security added 238,436 contributors (1.17%), to exceed 20.6 million.
Registered unemployment fell in monthly variation in all the autonomous communities and Castilla y León recorded the sixth largest cut in absolute data, with Andalucía (-20,551), Cataluña (-9,506) and Castilla-La Mancha (-6,645) in the lead in the falls.
In an annual comparison, compared to April 2022, Castilla y León registered 11,755 fewer unemployed, -9.24%, and with 15,832 more contributors (1.70%).
The annual behavior was also better in terms of unemployment than the national one, with this drop of 9.24 percent compared to the -7.75 regional average; although affiliation in Spain rose 2.98 percent compared to April 2022, compared to 1.7 in Castilla y León.
The services sector: 2,944 fewer unemployed with the focus of Easter
Unemployment fell in all sectors in April in the Community, especially in Services, with 2,944 fewer unemployed than the previous month.
Agriculture ended April with 212 fewer unemployed, Industry -384, with -285 in Construction and -307 in the previously unemployed group.
Segovia recorded the largest provincial relative drop in Spain: -5.8%
Unemployment fell in all the provinces of the Community compared to March, especially in Segovia, which recorded a monthly drop of 5.80 percent, the largest relative provincial in Spain, with 5.04 in Palencia.
In Ávila unemployment fell by 3.75 percent, 2.96 in Burgos, 3.09 in León, with 3.5 in Salamanca, 3.97 in Soria, 2.92 in Valladolid and 3.37 in Zamora.
In annual terms, the number of registered unemployed also decreased in all the provinces of the Community: Ávila (-7.44%), Burgos (-9.05%), León (-9.89%), Palencia (-12 99%), Salamanca (-7.78%), Segovia (-7.87%), Soria (-8.51%), Valladolid (-10.28%) and Zamora (-7.67%).
-4.06% less male unemployment, -3.05% female and -9.59% in those under 25
Unemployment fell in April in Castilla y León more among men, with 4.06 percent less than the previous month (1,949), and -3.05 in women (-2,183), with also a cut in 9.56 percent in the group under 25 years of age (-901).
In April 48,097 contracts were made: 10,006 less than in March
Regarding hiring, in April 48,097 contracts were closed in Castilla y León, 10,006 less (-17.22%) than the previous month, with 9,127 less (-15.95) than a year ago. In the national set, hiring plummeted 12 percent in monthly data and 20.19 in annual.
Of these contracts, 17,455 were permanent, 3,032 less than in March (-14.80), and 5,152 less than a year ago (-22.79). And the storms were 30,642, 6,974 less than in March and 3,975 less than a year ago.
72,315 unemployed with benefits
Of those more than 115,000 unemployed in Castilla y León received some type of benefit, 72,315, in this case with data from March, with 34,282 contributory benefits, 34,284 subsidies and 3,749 active insertion income.
Affiliation increased more in Ávila and less in Valladolid
Regarding Social Security affiliates, with this month-on-month rise of 0.69 percent, below the national 1.17, it oscillated between the 1.44 percent rise in Ávila and 0.28 in Valladolid.
Burgos closed April with 0.57 percent more contributors, with 0.82 in León, 0.86 in Palencia, 0.78 percent in Salamanca, and 0.69 in Segovia and Zamora.
In absolute data, León added 1,332 of the 6,500 of the entire Community, with 964 Salamanca, 860 Burgos and 787 Ávila.
They were followed by 625 from Valladolid, 614 from Zamora, 547 from Palencia, 434 from Segovia and 336 from Soria.EFE
