Murcia, Apr 29 (EFE).- A storm with heavy rain and gusts of wind has forced the eviction of 18,000 attendees of the Warm Up festival in Murcia this Saturday around 7:30 p.m., with the cancellation of all the concerts scheduled for this day , as reported by the organizers in a statement.
The public, who was enjoying the concert by the British rock band Temples when it began to rain, was evacuated in half an hour from the La Fica venue, where the festival is held, by 70 guards and 170 security assistants.
In the statement, the organizers point out that “after a meeting with those responsible for Civil Protection, Local Police and the Department of Citizen Security, the decision has been made, since it cannot guarantee security conditions for both attendees and workers, to cancel the day of this Saturday ”.
Likewise, they explain that “the magnitude of the storm and the intense, unforeseen rain, has caught everyone by surprise and has forced the festival to stop for the safety of the public, the workers and the artists.”
Thus, the performances of the Scottish group Franz Ferdinand, of the Berliners Moderat, of the Murcians Viva Suecia and Second, of the Gipuzkoan Amaia, of the Valencian Álvaro Lafuente Calvo, known as Guitarricadelafuente, the Spanish indie band León Benavente and the Londoner Hopte Tala, among others.
On the other hand, the organizers have not communicated anything about the day of this Sunday, in which clear skies are expected and temperatures that can reach 36 degrees in the Murcian capital.
Concerts by the British indie rock band The Kooks, the London electronic music group Hot Chip, the Madrid bands Vetusta Morla and Carolina Durante, the Americans Yo La Tengo, the Catalans Dorian, the singer-songwriter are scheduled for this day.
