Madrid (EFE).- At three in the afternoon this Friday, the special device will be launched on the occasion of the May 1 bridge, which in Madrid will last until midnight on the 2nd as it is a holiday in this community, and in which the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) expects 6.5 million journeys by road.
All the human and material resources of Traffic, such as fixed and mobile speed control radars, as well as helicopters, drones, cameras and camouflaged vans to control the use of mobile phones and seat belts, will be available during these five days.
With them, coverage will be given to the important movement of both long and short-distance vehicles towards the coast (mainly Andalusia and Levante), as well as mountain areas and second homes.
Special device for the Spanish Motorcycling GP
This weekend, in addition, the Spanish Motorcycle Grand Prix in Jerez de la Frontera is being held in Jerez, so motorcycle trips to this town in Cádiz will have special relevance, especially in the accesses to the circuit.
Traffic has established a special regulation and surveillance device for this sporting event.
Likewise, on Saturday 29 the traditional April Fair ends in Seville, so the accesses to the city of Seville can increase its circulatory intensity.
The worst days and time slots to travel
The largest increases in vehicles will take place this Friday afternoon (especially between 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.) and Saturday morning 29 (between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.) in the direction of departure from large urban centers.
On the way back, complications can arise in the direction of the cities, on Monday 1 (between 4 and 11 p.m.) in all communities except Madrid, which due to its holiday, is delayed until Tuesday, May 2 ( between 1:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.).
To favor circulation, reversible and additional lanes will be installed at times of greatest traffic flow and the establishment of alternative itineraries.
Likewise, works on the highways will be paralyzed, the holding of sports events and other events will be limited, and the circulation of trucks will be restricted.
Before hitting the road, the DGT recommends finding out about the weather forecasts and planning the trip along the safest route to avoid unforeseen events.
