Logroño, (EFE).- The Government of La Rioja appeals to the responsibility of the population in the rational use of water in the face of the drought situation in the community, whose reservoirs of Pajares and González Lacasa are at 36% and 59% of their capacity, respectively.
The spokesman for the Executive and Minister of Sustainability and Ecological Transition, Alex Dorado, has indicated this in the informative conference after the Governing Council, which has discussed this situation.
La Rioja is on alert due to a shortage of water in the Iregua basin and other points along the Ebro axis, and in relative normality in the rest, for which reason the regional Executive insists on responsible consumption, avoiding unnecessary leaks, said Dorado .
He has also ensured that the supply of drinking water is guaranteed and everything related to non-essential uses, such as swimming pools or other recreational uses, “is on the table” awaiting the evolution of the drought in the face to summer.
He has also reported that, in La Rioja, there are 300 water points to prevent forest fires due to drought. EFE
