Madrid (EFE).- The banking groups that operate in Spain obtained a joint net profit of 19,524 million euros in 2022, 12.5% more than the previous year, the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) reported on Monday.
This improvement in the result is due to the increase in income from typical banking activity, “which sustains structure costs, a significant increase in provisions for bad debts and the growth in tax expense”.
This was explained this Monday at a press conference by the president of the Association, Alejandra Kindelán, who added that 42% of the result before taxes comes from the activity of these entities abroad.
