Seville, (EFE).- Andalusia has taken to the streets this Sunday to enjoy its Great Holy Week with splendid weather and dozens of brotherhoods that go through or are going to go through the streets of towns and cities throughout the afternoon arousing feelings and keeping alive an ancient tradition.
It is Palm Sunday and after the morning of clapping processions the streets have been filled with people to enjoy a day where children occupy a leading role accompanying Jesus in his triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the back of his “little donkey or donkey”.
In Seville, this stamp will be seen leaving from the parish of El Salvador, giving continuity to a day that the Brotherhood of La Paz has opened and in which a total of nine brotherhoods will carry the passion for this festival from different neighborhoods to the center of the city that is a hive of people.
Holy Week in Andalusia of tourist interest
In Granada, it is the Brotherhood of the Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and Our Lady of Peace, “La Borriquilla”, which opens Holy Week in this Andalusian capital, declared of International Tourist Interest, with a procession of children with palms. that on this sunny day he will also take to the streets the brotherhoods of the Santa Cena, Sentencia, Despojado and Cautivo.
Nine brotherhoods make their processional parade in Malaga: La Pollinica, Dulce Nombre, Salutación, Humildad y Paciencia, Humildad, Salud, Huerto, Prendimiento and Lágrimas y Favores Fusionadas that, as every year, will have the presence of the actor Antonio Banderas.
Also in Cádiz, La Borriquita, which this year celebrates the 75th anniversary of the blessing of the Virgin, has been in charge of welcoming Palm Sunday; parade followed by others such as El Despojado, Las Penas, La Sagrada Cena and Humildad y Paciencia.
And in Córdoba, La Borriquita also walks the streets of the city surrounded by hundreds of children who will fill the streets of a city with their joy that will receive Las Penas, El Huerto, La Esperanza, El Amor and El Rescatado on this day.
First level cultural and heritage festival
