Seville, (EFE).- The Easter campaign will generate 18,510 contracts in Andalusia, 17.3% more than a year ago, although it will still be 27.3% lower than pre-pandemic levels, according to forecasts from the Randstad human resources group.
About 82% of all the contracts that will be signed in the Easter campaign will correspond to the hotel industry.
By provinces, Cádiz will register the highest volume of contracts (4,530), and an increase of 17.7%; in Malaga, 3,880 contracts will be signed and an increase of 19.4%, while in Seville 3,580 will be signed and an increase of 20.4%; in Jaén, 1,710 contracts and an increase of 12.8%; in Granada, 1,470 contracts and an increase of 10.9%; in Almería, 1,160 and 18.4% more; in Córdoba, 1,160 and 14.2% more; and in Huelva, 1,020 and 16% more.
In the country as a whole, Holy Week will generate 84,750 contracts, 17% more than during the 2022 campaign, and Andalusia will generate 21.8% of all the contracts that will be signed for Holy Week in Spain.
According to Valentín Bote, director of Randstad Research, it is “positive to see that, despite the economic uncertainty, forecasts indicate an increase in contracts.”
Occupations above 70 percent
For its part, the tourism sector, particularly hoteliers, anticipate a better Holy Week even than before the covid, with higher occupancy figures and price growth also clearly above then.
In general, in these first holidays of the year there will be occupancies greater than 70%, even pending closing figures with last-minute reservations, and less substantial than in the covid years. It is the prelude, they agree in the sector, of a summer that also looks better than those before the world stopped with the pandemic.
Hotel prices, which, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) have been growing continuously for 21 months, practically all in double digits (with a peak of 29.5% in April last year), will continue to rise in this month of April, as recognized by most of the chains. EFE
