Santander, (EFE).- The program “From the tent to the people” will take the circus to rural areas of Cantabria this spring, which are outside the usual cultural circuits.
The municipalities of Alfoz de Lloredo launches this weekend, March 11 and 12, this initiative.
The circus will also be present in Limpias on March 31 and April 1 and 2, in Selaya, from April 7, 8 and 9, and in Riotuerto from April 28 to 30.
“From the tent to the people” includes circus and photography workshops, the screening of the short film “Alma de circo” by Carlos Díez Jubete about the Tonetti brothers, and the show by the Circus Magnificus company.
The program was presented this Tuesday by the Vice President of Cantabria and Minister of Culture, Pablo Zuloaga, and the representatives of Malabaracirco Elena Umlauff and Samuel Montes.
The circuit has been designed giving priority to rural areas at risk of depopulation.
The objective is not only to reach the older population, which is the one that resides the most in these rural areas, but also the young and child population that lives in the rural world.
