Barcelona (EFE).- Civil Protection has today activated the alerts for strong winds, waves and snow in Catalonia due to the adverse weather forecast, with rainfall that could exceed 100 mm/24h in the northwest and Terres del Ebre and with snowfall in heights over 800 meters that may accumulate more than 10 cm.
As reported by Civil Protection on Tuesday, the pre-alert for water floods is also activated, which could leave more than 100 mm in 24 hours in Terres de l’Ebre, Osona, Vallès Oriental and some points in Girona.
The Meteorological Service of Catalonia has described the level of danger as maximum due to the state of the sea. The waves may exceed 7 meters today in a general way on the Catalan coast, and the gusts of wind exceed 72 km/h on the coast and the central pre-coastal.
In addition, the snow alert is also activated, since more than 10 cm of snow may accumulate at levels above 800 meters. In the Eastern Pyrenees and the Transversal Mountain Range, 40 centimeters may be exceeded above 1,500 meters.
