Barcelona (EFE) two different models. To choose heads or tails.
This is what he said in the conference “Barcelona, vuelve Trias”, which he offered in the Barcelona Auditorium, which was attended by the former presidents of the Generalitat Jordi Pujol and Artur Mas, the former councilors Jaume Giró, Victòria Alsina, Josep Maria Argimon and Lourdes Ciuró, as well as the president and general secretary of JxCat, Laura Borràs and Jordi Turull, respectively.
The event was attended by more than 600 people, who filled the Oriol Martorell auditorium, although no representative of the PDeCAT attended, a group with which Trias is in talks to try to incorporate it into his candidacy.
Formally anointed as a JxCat candidate for mayor of Barcelona, Trias has offered to carry out a “change with a well-prepared, solid, experienced team, as broad as possible.”
And it is that at the end of his conference some of the numbers who will join him on the list have taken to the stage: councilors Jordi Martí, Neus Munté, Francina Vila and Joan Rodríguez, as well as former councilors Damià Calvet, Victòria Alsina and Ramon Tremosa.
Govern from rigor
“To make the change is to have a mayor who governs from rigor and not from frivolity, who leads from concertation and dialogue and not from the opposition, who governs for the whole world and not just for the followers,” he stressed.
In his conference, Trias blamed the mayoress of Barcelona, Ada Colau, for not having solved the city’s problems and for having “generated problems that were not there before”, together with the groups that support him, including situated to the PSC and ERC, formation to which he has reproached his “inexhaustible support” to the mayoress and “his infatuation with the commons.”
“I could talk for a long time about the dysfunctions of the pact between commoners and socialists, about the bizarre flight of Jaume Collboni…”, indicated Trias, who has chosen to speak of the “possible Barcelona”, which overcomes “the current degradation and is excited with the future.”
“A positive Barcelona, which has a mayor who believes in the city, who stops making demoralizing speeches, and who leads a new stage”, added Trias.
The former mayor of Barcelona dedicated part of his conference to criticizing the tactical urbanism promoted by the current municipal government, and pointed out that the city today is synonymous with “improvisation, concrete, colors and paint”, as well as “ugliness, inequality and disorder”.
And he has accused the Colau town hall of “endangering the Eixample” without “prior studies, without a scientific method”, but with the collaboration of Jaume Collboni and Ernest Maragall: “The treatment of public space in Barcelona is a real botch job. Nothing remains of the Barcelona of design, which was a benchmark in the world».
