Oviedo (EFE) a strike that is having “some incidence” in the daily functioning of the judicial administration.
“Citizens are affected, which is perhaps what can cause the most grief,” he said in statements to journalists this Wednesday on the occasion of the act of promoting Laura Sotorrío Fernández-Mijares from judge to magistrate.
Chamorro has commented that the strike, which has completed its fourth week, is having a follow-up of between 50 and 60 percent, depending on the days, among the 115 judicial lawyers summoned in the Principality.
The president of the TSJA recalled that the former court secretaries are a “key instrument” since without them “there is an important part” of the activity that cannot be carried out, which means that actions have been suspended whose number is being counted by the Ministry of Justice, on which these professionals depend.
Chamorro has said, in this sense, that the first thing is to know “what is the traffic jam” that the strike is causing and “what real impact is it going to have” in the dispatch of affairs and then “assess reinforcing measures.”
“But now we cannot make a diagnosis of exactly what can be done as we do not have a true and real scope of this strike”, pointed out the president of the TSJA.
Chamorro is not aware that weddings have had to be suspended, given that the tasks of the civil registry are matters unrelated to the judicial function, a point in which he has stressed that “the majority” of civil liaisons take place in the town halls and those that they are formalized in the judicial bodies “there are very few”.
The president of the high court has avoided making assessments of the demands of the lawyers who, in any case, are “legitimate”, since each body “tries to fight for their claims”, both remunerative and professional.
“They will know what negotiation they have followed and what are the true and real reasons that have led them to call that strike,” he pointed out, after arguing that he does not know “exactly” the positions and positions, so he has avoided assessing “when and how” You can end the call.
The Ministry of Justice has called a meeting this Thursday with the strike committee of the Justice Administration Lawyers (LAJ), from which the Government trusts that an agreement will come out and “paralyze the strike immediately.” EFE
