Madrid, Jul 24 (EFE).- The Balearic Islands and ten provinces in the eastern peninsula maintain the orange or yellow heat warning this Monday, with the highest incidence in Alicante and Valencia, where thermometers will register up to 39 degrees, reports Aemet on its website.
The provinces of Alicante and Valencia have an orange level (significant risk) due to maximums of 39 degrees, although, occasionally, they may exceed 40 degrees; Aemet warns that on the southern coast of Alicante these values are expected in the interior of the area.
In Andalucía, Almería and Málaga they have a yellow warning (risk) for values between 36 and 39 degrees, locally 40 degrees; Likewise, Aemet informs that Granada, Almería and Málaga have activated the alert, also yellow, due to west and southwest winds with intervals of 50 to 60 km/h (force 7) and waves of 2 to 3 meters.
Albacete (Castilla-La Mancha), the Balearic Islands and the Region of Murcia continue with a yellow alert for temperatures that will oscillate between 36 and 39 degrees; In addition, on the island of Menorca, there is a yellow level due to Rissagas.
The provinces of Barcelona, Lleida, Tarragona continue with a yellow warning for highs of up to 36 degrees or for rain that will accumulate 20 liters in an hour, while in Girona the yellow warning is for rain.
The Aemet warns that with the orange alert there is a risk of unusual meteorological phenomena and with a certain degree of danger for usual activities, and with the yellow alert there is no meteorological risk for the population in general, although there is for some specific activity.
