Cartagena (EFE) la Flores with its peculiar and fun musical fusion.
“Good morning, Andalucía”, with this cry the Andalusian group has started their second performance at the Cartagena festival, where they already performed in 2021, which has been followed by the song “No înnô de Andaluçia”, with which they pay admiration, respect and homage to their motherland, without leaving aside its transgressive and non-conformist essence: “Andalusia is a woman, a fighter and combative, who historically has had to face multiple difficulties to raise their children.”
“Buleríâ del aire acondicionao”, a story of heartbreak
“In Andalusia you live well. A third of the population is at risk of severe exclusion.”, ironized Chaparro, who, dressed as a futuristic folkloric, added that “many families do not have air conditioning, so they have to take refuge in bars and supermarkets, which forces them to consume.”
This has been the introduction of “Buleríâ del aire acondiçionao”, a song that talks about heartbreak based on the story of a soul in pain who is forced to leave his beloved because it does him no good, with lyrics loaded with poetry that recalls that of Federico García Lorca from Granada: “I have been beaten up. The dreams I’m having. If I don’t hurry. They’re going to catch me awake.”
Esteban Espada (bass), Sebastián Orellana (electric guitar), Guille Iniesta (flamenco guitar), María José Luna (singer and dancer), Lorenzo Soria (electronics) and Sergio Ruíz (keyboards), have been the other members of Califato 3/4 who, with a lot of joke, have also delighted the Cartagena public.
Legendary videos of “La Faraona”
The songs of the Andalusian group have been interspersed with small videos, about 20 seconds long, of the legendary moments that “La Faraona” left us, such as her famous “If you love me, go away”, which she uttered at the wedding of her daughter Lolita, in 1983, or her interviews with Huelva-born Jesús Quintero, with confessions such as “I am a gypsy from within”; “I have tried cocaine, and joints for laughter”, or “Everything can be done in this life, with method”, among others.
One of the most significant moments took place when the foreman Chaparro appeared bare-chested, with his nipples covered with a black tape, and blurted out that “taking off your shirt in public is a man’s privilege because if I were a woman they would be able to stop my concert.”
Classics by Lola Flores like “La zarzamora”
The demands have aroused applause and cries of support from the Novocartaginian forum, which has also applauded the Andalusian group for their versions of classics by Lola Flores such as “La zarzamora”, “La bomba” or “Historia de un amor”, among others, in which guest artists such as the Jerez-born bailaor and cantaor Tomasito or the urban flamenco duo La Cebolla y el Negro Jari have participated.
Caliphate 3/4 has put the brooch of Gold to the 28th edition of the Sea of Music with “Crîtto de la Nabah áhâ” and “White silence Remixxx”, two customary mergers with dyes weeks that have made the staff take off from their seats, raising it to heaven and giving way to a fireworks castle that has illuminated three of the many jewelry of the trimilenaria Romano and the festival itself.
Jacobo Serra presents his album “Twelve”
At 9:30 p.m., in the courtyard of the old Seafaring Instruction Barracks (CIM), the singer and guitarist from Albacete Jacobo Serra has presented his latest album “Twelve”, an album of 12 songs, each one titled with the name of a month of the year, which from melancholy and sensitivity passes through the four seasons to summarize the adventures and misadventures of his entire life.
With a deep and melodious voice, the Manchego folk-rock performer has done a monthly review of his career that has been applauded by the 300 attendees gathered in the 18th century building that houses the Faculty of Business Sciences, of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, where he has assured that La Mar de Músicas, in which he already performed in 2015, “is one of the best festivals in Spain.”
