Madrid (EFE).- Around 170,000 documentations of voters who requested to vote by mail are pending to be collected at post offices this Thursday, the last day on which votes can be sent for the general elections on Sunday.
Correos sources have informed EFE early this Thursday that there are around 170,000 voters who have asked to vote by mail and have not yet collected their census documentation and ballots, and that they will be able to do so today at the post offices, where they can then hand in their vote.
Early Wednesday morning, the Post Office reported that there were 282,000 applicants for voting by mail who had yet to collect their electoral documentation, meaning that 112,000 people had done so in the last 24 hours.
In total, 2,622,808 people have requested to vote by mail for these 23J elections, so there would be approximately 2,453,000 who would have already collected the documentation, either at the addresses indicated or later at the post offices.
Correos has communicated that its offices will be open until 10:00 p.m., although the company has assured that “no one will be left without voting” and that if there are people waiting to be attended in any office, it will be open “until the last vote is cast.”
