Madrid, (EFE).- Correos has warned that there are close to 450,600 electoral documents that have not yet been collected at post offices and that they remain available to voters to be able to exercise their right to vote by mail on July 23.
In a press release, the Post Office has specified that it has already made 98.2% of the requested postal votes available to citizens, amounting to 2.6 million requests, for which reason it has already sent 2 .57 million electoral documents.
However, it stresses that although it has delivered 2.12 million votes by hand until Monday, there are still another 450,607 pending to be collected after the two delivery attempts to the recipient, as required by law.
The postal entity points out that the more than 45,000 Post Office workers will continue to “employ themselves with the same professionalism” until July 23 and highlights the “normal performance of this entire electoral process.”
“Even though specific situations of high workload have occurred, at no time has there been any risk regarding its correct development”, the Correos management has reiterated, which has transmitted a message of confidence to all voters since “our only concern is not to disappoint you -says the statement- “.
After the declarations of the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, regarding the fact that all the requested votes by mail might not be delivered, Correos has stressed that it rejects “all those insinuations or information that have questioned the work of professionals and that weaken our democracy.”
