Beck, with 59.31 minutes, won ahead of the Dutch Sharon van Rouwendaal and the Brazilian Ana Maria Cunha, who accompanied him on the podium.
The German swimmer had no rival when she decided to attack in the final part of the race, a test that had begun to animate at the beginning of the second round, after the Brazilian Cunha set a hectic pace in the lead.

Very close to the podium was the Portuguese Angelica André, fourth, 3.9 seconds behind Beck, while the Italian Pozzobon was fifth and the Brazilian Viviane Jungblut, sixth.
As for the Spanish, Ángela Martínez was always in the intermediate group and finished twelfth at the end. Candela Sánchez went from less to more and got the twenty-second final place.
